Daniel Ferreras

I’m 36 years old and completed an Associate’s Degree from Guilford Tech Community College in 2009. I was hired by General Electric in 2011; the Industrial Solutions division was acquired by ABB in 2018 and I just celebrated my 10 year anniversary with the company. My current GPA UNC Charlotte is at a 3.7. I first enrolled into the 2+2 program back in 2015 and have been slowly crawling my way through the program. I’ve since gotten married, had our first child, and purchased a home in the Mebane, NC area.

Daniel’s advice to other students: Dedicate yourself to the process; if you want it, you can achieve it. It’s definitely not easy; not as easy as your Associate’s degree may have been. It’s tough which demands a lot of time and discipline, but it is possible to complete the degree. Stay in the fight; one day at a time, one class at a time, and one semester at a time.
