FAQ’s

I have no experience with student life activities. Are you sure this is right for me?

Yes! Yes! Yes! Whether you’re a natural-born leader or someone who’s more comfortable on the sidelines…the Adult Student Ambassador Program has a place for you. We are excited to build a community of students with different levels of experience and a variety of backgrounds.

Is the selection process competitive?

Applicants are chosen based on: meeting student status eligability (undergraduate, first degree seeking, adult student 24+ or veteran), confirmation that they can commit to the program requirements, having good academic standing, and submitting a thoughtful personal statement. While we want to include as many students as possible, space is limited. If you are not accepted this semester, we strongly encourage to apply next semester!

I’m taking online classes, can I still join?

Yes! We will be hosting a mix of on-campus and virtual events.

What type of events will I be participating in?

Adult student ambassadors will have the opportunity to participate in virtual and on-campus meet and greets, orientation events, special topic workshops, adult student appreciation week events, scholarship events, and more!

This is my first semester at UNC Charlotte, can I apply to the program?

Yes! Just keep in mind that time management can be a challenge during your first semester and we want you to be successful.

How many semesters am I required to participate in the program?

Adult Student Ambassadors are asked to commit to two consecutive semesters.

I graduate at the end of this semester. Can I still apply?

Unfortunately, we are only accepting students who can commit to two semesters. However, many of the events are open to all students, regardless of whether or not you are an official student ambassador.
