“While attending school I have worked three part time jobs to support my children while pursuing my degree. As an active member of my church Silvermount Baptist Church I work in the community to feed the homeless, and volunteer with our youth Missionary group. Like many students, I have had barriers and challenges to overcome to get to this point in my life, including being a single mother. Receiving this scholarship means that I am one step further to achieving my goal of giving back to the community.”

To be financially secure I would also need all the possible hours I could work and that would leave me with very few options for school.
